Paul Jowdy Promoted to VP, Group Publisher of WWD Group

With cuts come reshuffling. And so it comes as little surprise that Condé Nast has just named Paul Jowdy vice president, group publisher of WWD Group and M.

Jowdy is essentially taking on added duties since Marc Berger was let go, a move we mentioned this morning.

Jowdy had been WWD’s vice president and publisher since November of 2011. He will continue to report to Will Schenck, Fairchild Fashion Media’s chief revenue officer.

Fairchild Fashion Media Makes Publisher Changes

There have been two changes at Fairchild Fashion Media. Pamela Daniels has joined the company as the new publisher of Beauty, Inc. Daniels comes to Fairchild from Rodale, where she served as business development director since February.  She will report to Paul Jowdy, vice president, publisher of WWD.

Additionally, Matt Rice has been promoted to associate publisher of Style.com, NowManifest and Style.com/Print. Rice was most recently advertising director for Fairchild.

Jason Wagenheim Shifts to Teen Vogue

Last week Jason Wagenheim was abruptly booted as Publisher of Glamour after only three months. The day after the dismissal Wagenheim insisted he was staying at Condé Nast, and we now know that he indeed is — as Publisher of Teen Vogue.

Ad Age reports that he is taking the job from Sabine Feldmann, who has been Vice President and Publisher of Teen Vogue since April of last year. There is no word what the future holds for Feldmann, but sources are speculating that she’ll end up at Details, which has been without a Publisher since Paul Jowdy left. This would be odd though, because David Hamilton was promoted to fill Jowdy’s spot.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear how things shake out.

A lot of moves today. Everyone keeping up so far? Good, because here’s another one. Just six months ago Paul Jowdy left Details for Every Day with Rachael Ray. Today he is jumping ship once again to Women’s Wear Daily.

Will Schenck, Chief Revenue Officer for Fairchild Fashion Media, announced that Jowdy has been named Vice President, Publisher of WWD, effective immediately.

“We are thrilled to have Paul join WWD,” said Schenck. “Paul’s range of connections and strategic business knowledge make him the perfect person to lead our selling efforts.  His intelligent, creative approach is certain to bring growth to our print and digital media platforms.”

Details Fills Gap Left by Paul Jowdy

According to Adweek, Bill Wackermann has promoted David Hamilton to fill the loss of Paul Jowdy at Details. Hamilton was previously Associate Publisher, and he will now be Senior Executive Director.

Taking Hamilton’s spot as Associate Publisher is Chris Cormier, who previously worked at Glamour.

Jowdy has only been with Details since January, and before that was Publisher of Bon Appétit.

Condé Nast Names Two New Publishers

William Wackermann, the Executive Vice President, Publishing Director of Condé Nast’s Bon Appétit, Details, Glamour, and W, has announced two in-house changes. Paul Jowdy has been tapped as Vice President and Publisher of Details and Pamela Drucker Mann has been named Vice President and Publisher for Bon Appétit.

Jowdy has been with Condé Nast for 14 years, most recently overseeing Bon Appétit, where he helped expand the magazine into more of a lifestyle title. Wackermann said Jowdy would bolster an already strong magazine:

Carol Smith Out As Publishing Director For Condé Nast’s Food Group

Earlier today, New York Times writer Jeremy W. Peters revealed via Twitter that Carol Smith is out as the publishing director of Condé Nast’s food group. Bill Wackermann has been promoted to executive vice president, publishing director of Glamour, Brides, W, and Details and will assume additional business responsibilities for Bon Appétit and the Gourmet brand. He was formerly Condé Nast’s publishing director for W, Glamour, Brides and Details.

His first order of business has been naming Paul Jowdy vice president and publisher of Bon Appétit and the Gourmet brand. Jowdy has held this position before, prior to becoming senior executive director under Smith.

Smith had jumped ship to Condé Nast from Elle — where she had worked as the title’s senior vice president and chief brand officer — fairly recently, in April of this year.
