Peter Gilstrap’s (Other) New Job

Soup_Gallery_models.jpgWell, our Peter has been a busy beaver (yeah, we know, but it’s, like, almost a full moon so get off our backs… or get on our backs. Ahem.). You’ll recall that Peter Gilstrap is the weekly sex columnist for MetroMix, and now we find his name — and a funny little rant about his name — in the hallowed Web pages of E! Online.

Seems Peter is taking over for Clog Narter, revered writer of the Soup Blog. We couldn’t be more delighted! We really could use a daily dose of Peter. (Ahem.)

More Staff Changes at Variety

Guest editor Chris Gardner delivers!

While the news of Elizabeth Guider’s appointment as Editor of The Hollywood Reporter is still fresh, there are a few other staff changes over at Variety that are interesting to point out. Former InStyle staffer Monica Corcoran, who joined Variety last year and has been serving as style editor and Stylephile blogger, has left the Wilshire Boulevard offices. I’m told she’s headed to the LA Times.

Variety’s film staff has also seen some recent changes with the departure of box-office editor Ian Mohr who exited for a vp post in development and production with NY-based producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas’ production shingle. Also, fairly new film reporter Peter Gilstrap didn’t work out in the V offices and has already left the building.

Perez Hilton Has Problems

hilton_perez.jpgIn today’s Variety, Peter Gilstrap reports that Perez Hilton’s main webhost has dropped Perezhilton.com after repeated warnings about the use of copyrighted images (like the one we just stole from Variety).

It’s not likely to stop Perez, but we wonder what that kind of crackdown will mean for the rest of bloggerdom.
