In case you missed it, a survey by Austin, TX-based outfit The Global Language Monitor recently crowned Manhattan ahead of Paris, London and Milan as the world’s top fashion capital. Armstrong and Leitch break down the necessary elements for such NYC legitimacy, based on their time here at NYFW 2014. Starting with the number of truly fabulous runway shows:

On the Amazing Show Front we are left with pretty slim pickings. There was Rag & Bone’s endless succession of skinny-jeans-you-already-own, worn with jumpers-that-look-as-though-you’ve-already-worn-them (think Jack Wills, but with grumpier-looking models). Far more amazing was the Ukrainian streaker who insinuated his posing pouch on to Prabal Gurung‘s catwalk on Saturday – although it wasn’t all that useful for the poor designer…
