Music Journo Never Got a Thank You from The Clash, Elvis Costello

ThereGoesGravityCoverW magazine contributor Catherine Hong has shared a fabulous preview of There Goes Gravity: A Life in Rock and Roll, the April 22 memoir from trailblazing female music journalist Lisa Robinson.

When the interview subject has the kind of stories that Robinson does, the Mick Jagger lede pretty much writes itself. Not to mention the killer, second-paragraph, anecdotal follow:

In the ’70s, when Robinson proved she could tour with the hard-partying Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones and file juicy behind-the-scenes stories without pissing anybody off — or, as she contends, having to sleep with anybody — the New York native established herself as music journalism’s ultimate insider. Robinson was the cool girl who introduced David Bowie to Lou Reed and shielded Patti Smith on the side of a Central Park stage so she could pee. She helped The Clash and Elvis Costello get their first record deals (“Never got a thank-you,” she notes tartly) and even lent Jagger a pair of her best lace underwear for a show in Toronto because his pants were too sheer.

Coachella Hinting at Rolling Stones for 2013?

Coachella is almost around the corner (scary, huh?) and the music festival might have dropped a hint about the headliner for the 2013 festival.

The above image of what could be a stone (or beach ball … but let’s just go with stone) is via the Coachella Facebook page, leaving many to speculate this is a subtle hint the Rolling Stones will be the headline act.

Mick Jagger and the rest of the wrinkled crew were first linked to Coachella last month when their official app listed the festival as an upcoming tour date before quickly deleting it.

The two-day, two-weekend festival is scheduled for April 12-14 and April 19-21. The full lineup will be announced later this month.

World’s Most Famous Groupie Defends Mick Jagger’s Manhood

Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones recently suggested in his autobiography “Life” that band mate Mick Jagger wasn’t exactly well-endowed. Not so, says legendary groupie Pamela des Barres of the geriatric rock star:

Despite my admiration for the pirate of the group, I beg to differ with Keith on the sexual prowess of his lead singer, Sir Mick Jagger. In all ways (including size, thank you) and on several occasions I got plenty of Satisfaction. The todger isn’t tiny after all, dolls. And you can trust the world’s most famous groupie!
