The New York Daily News has partnered with MyCityWay — a city guide tech platform — to launch the new Daily News Mobile App. When using the app, people can read the Daily News and take advantage of MyCityWay’s offerings, which includes the ability to sign up for local deals, view Instagram photos taken near the users’ location, and more.
“The app gives our audience an extensive and up-to-date resource of highly useful information and allows advertisers the ability to engage customers at new levels of geographical and category targeting,” said Steve Lynas, the Daily News’ senior vice president of digital, in a statement. “We have found strong engagement with our audience and now we are offering them morevaluable New York information in a compelling format.”
As Lynas points out, this app is great for advertisers. For users? Well, that depends on how much they like targetted ads crowding the things they read.
