Stuart Levine has had a couple of solid journalistic runs – 14 years with the Los Angeles Daily News and another 15, starting in 1998, with Variety. But like so many other entertainment journalism vets, he has chosen at this career stage to segue to the higher paying field of corporate communications.
His new and very impressive title will be VP of editorial and media relations for NBC Entertainment. From this afternoon’s Variety announcement:
Levine will lead editorial efforts for the Peacock, penning and editing press materials, spearheading media relations initiatives and working closely on publicity regarding ratings. He’ll also be involved in corporate communications. He’ll report to Rebecca Marks, exec veep of publicity, and Nate Kirtman, senior veep of corporate public relations.
“We’re grateful for the 15 years Stu has devoted to Variety and for all his hard work,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Variety parent Penske Media Corp. “We will be announcing two senior TV hires in the next few weeks as part of the evolution of the business. We wish Stu every success in this new chapter of his career.”
