BuzzFeed, The Week Make Changes to Business Teams

BuzzFeed and The Week have made some changes to their business teams. Details below.

    • BuzzFeed has named Tom Gara business editor. Gara was previously the site’s deputy business editor. He came to BuzzFeed from The Wall Street Journal. Jim Romenesko reports that Gara is succeeding Peter Lauria, who is leaving BuzzFeed.
    • Jeff Spross has joined The Week as a business and economics columnist for TheWeek.com. He previously worked as a reporter forThinkProgress.

The Wall Street Journal Adds Three to Business Coverage

The Wall Street Journal has added three new members to its business coverage team. The details:

  • Tom Gara joins from the Financial Times. Gara had been with FT since 2010, most recently serving as gulf news editor. Gara — along with Joe White — will write and edit the Journal’s new blog, Corporate Intelligence.
  • Evelyn Rusli comes to the Journal from The New York Times. Rusli had been with the Times for the past two years. Prior to that she was a reporter and video anchor for TechCrunch and Forbes.
  • Matthew Lynley joins the Journal from Business Insider. Lynley will be lead blogger for Digits, the Journal’s tech blog.
