The Huffington Post: Bringing you MORE, of EVERYTHING
It’s May 9th, and – as promised – The Huffington Post is up and running! Since the stroke of midnight Arianna Huffington’s much-hyped blog has been taking up a shocking amount of bandwidth, by the looks of it: the thing is HUGE! It’s got over 300 contributors and it’s well on its way to using them all — so far a casual glance nets you John Cusack on Hunter S. Thompson; Mike Nichols on metaphors; Davids Mamet, Frum, and Laurie; Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her husband Brad Hall (although our attention strayed from their musings on marital Gayness to wonder why Hall couldn’t manage to bump Louis or Dreyfus out of the top spot) and Ellen DeGeneres on saving horses from Alpo.
And these are just the featured posts – the actual “Blog” link has bloggers from all walks: Roger Lowenstein, Max Blumenthal, Hilary Rosen, Marshall Herskovitz,, and Russell Simmons. So far no sign of Gwyneth.
It’s also got a mother of a blogroll (yay, all of our Fishbowls are on it!) and a list of headlines that you would never mistake for anything on Sploid.
Best of all, it’s got a new media websource from which to liberally pilferborrow: Harry Shearer’s “Eat The Press.” Sean Hannity, watch your back.
It’s pretty brave of them all to do this considering that there will be mockery. Look for that “will” to be updated extensively in the near future.
UPDATE: Greg Gutfeld is a Huffie? Wow. That woman is freaking brave.
