Bristol Palin, the formerly pregnant daughter of the former governor of Alaska, turned – wait for it – abstinence activist, was a contestant on a dancing show. The dancing show has a bunch of professional dancers paired with celebrities and various notables who are not professional dancers. There are a lot of false eyelashes, sequins and lame music. But it’s super popular and people love it. They feel emotionally invested in it. So Bristol Palin, who feels she is plagued by “haters,” clopped her way through the show and viewers took issue with her. Mainly because she wasn’t as good as the other contestants but kept on being voted to stay on the show. Tellingly she said “Going out there and winning this would mean a lot. It would be like a big middle finger to all the people out there who hate my mom and hate me.” Because nothing says “screw you” to people who hate your mom like you getting a prize you clearly don’t deserve.
Value merit? Hater.
Because she was so bad yet advanced anyway (reminding the country of her mother Sarah Palin), viewers called foul.
Then TSG got copies of the letters:
“Bristol is not a star, what did she do, she had sex and got pregnant. Lets reward her…I made several call to ABC’s complaint line and I hope that their phone lines melt. It has become a political movement, with Tea Party websites instructing on how to vote for Bristol. Ridiculousness!”
