FishbowlNY asked Sreenath Sreenivasan, who runs The Columbia Journalism School's New Media program what he thinks about Pro Publica, the new non-profit investigative journalism project:

''I think this has a lot of potential. Increasingily, news outlets are finding it hard to (or are unwilling to) finance in-depth stories. Anything that helps with these stories is welcome. The fact that someone of Steiger's stature is involved will help make this happen -- and also shows how the industry is changing.''
