Time Searches for Best Young Photographers

Time magazine’s LightBox blog is on the lookout for the best young photographers of 2011. Are you one of them? We don’t think we qualify, unless 475 pictures of our pets count. But if you’ve got a better eye for images, you should enter the Lightbox Next Generation Contest.

From October 3 to October 17, any currently enrolled student or member of the class of 2011 can submit 10 to 20 photos that will be then reviewed by Times’s editors. The grand prize winner will receive $2,500, a portfolio review and have their work published on LightBox. The second and third place winners will also get their pieces featured on the blog.

Winners will be announced on LightBox on October 26, so get started now. And just one quick tip: Leave the Instagram picture of an apple out of your submissions.
