Tina Daunt is the latest addition to The Hollywood Reporter. She just signed up to become the trade’s new “contributing editor, politics.” With the upcoming election cycle, Daunt will be spending much of her time covering the influence of Hollywood money in the political world.
“Hollywood activists are among the country’s most powerful and dynamic political players,” Daunt says in a release. “Each election cycle, they raise tens of millions of dollars for candidates and causes. I’m excited that The Hollywood Reporter has given me the opportunity to cover the industry’s role in the country’s political system.”
Daunt comes to THR after years as a political reporter and columnist for the LA Times.
THR also tells us that they just brought several longtime freelancers in on staff. Carrie Smith is now senior photo producer, Chris Godley is THR.com’s photo editor, Meghan Quinn is the new associate photo editor and Gretchen Beane is now a photo assistant.
Congrats to all.
