Popular reality competition Top Chef is heading into its eighth season on Bravo.

Season number eight brings the foodie program back to Big Apple. The fifth season also took place in New York.

On Sunday night, Top Chef won its first Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality/Competition Program. It marked the first time that The Amazing Race didn’t go home with the trophy since the category’s inception in 2003.

Top Chef features culinary wizards competing against each other in various challenges.

They are judged by a panel of chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry with one or more contestants eliminated in each episode.

Top Chef, the seventh installment of the hit series, is winding down in Washington, D.C.
