Travel + Leisure Unveils Digital Holiday Edition For The iPad

Travel + Leisure today launched its first digital edition for the iPad. The issue, available through the app store as well as through the magazine’s website, will focus on holiday travel, expanding on the information provided in the magazine’s print edition by adding video, slide shows, and special hotspot maps. Each issue will cost $3.99 — 20 percent off the cover price of the print edition.

Other special features include a video exploration of 42nd street hosted by actor Andrew McCarthy, a tour of New Orleans with novelist Thomas Beller, tips from designer Han Feng on “eating like a local” in Shanghai, audio reviews of American wines from the magazine’s wine and spirits editor Bruce Schoenfeld, itineraries for 15 holiday destinations around the world, an interactive list of the best and worst airports, and the option of purchasing the products from the magazine’s Stylish Traveler and Tech sections through in-app browsers linking to online stores.
