Twitter Launches Best-Practices Blog for Media Outlets

fail-whale04122010.jpgTwitter, the Internet’s purveyor of 140-character taunts, jokes, pranks, links and updates, today unveiled a best-practices blog for media companies. The company announced its new blog, “Twitter Media,” about four hours ago via — what else? — Twitter.

The blog so far has posts dating back to February 24, including a missive on choosing the right API (application programming interface), how to fight off Twitter cybersquatters and a case study in effective on-the-ground tweeting from Haiti. So far, the overall the design is slick and the posts coherent.

So far, the blog is free — a fact that might let a little air out of the sails of Media Industry Newsletter, which currently sells a book titled Twitter Best Practices for Media Companies for $149 a pop.
