Update: Radar Names Interim Publisher, Says Rizzuto Received ‘Offer She Rightfully Couldn’t Refuse’

radar_cruise_real_estate.jpgWhat does Radar think about its publisher leaving less than three months after joining the magazine?

Says a Radar spokesperson:

“Radar publisher Katherine Rizzuto received an incredible offer to return to her former employer overseeing three magazines, an offer she rightfully couldn’t refuse. After hiring several Conde Nast employees in both our editorial and advertising departments, it seems they felt they had to take one back their way. While Katherine was here, she put together a superb and accomplished ad sales and marketing team who firmly believe in Radar as a powerful and salient media brand for years to come. Ad director Anne Perton — who worked at Conde Nast’s House & Garden before rejoining Radar this past summer — will take on the role of acting publisher as we have already begun interviewing a number of talented replacement candidates, both internally and externally. We wish Katherine well.

For Radar, it’s totally business as usual — our traffic volume has snowballed since our online launch one month ago, generated from breaking numerous news stories and giving hundreds of thousands of people their daily Radar fix of pop culture, politics, style and video. We are going full steam ahead, including our ink-on-paper launch in first half 2007.”
