USA Today Outsources Travel Site Content To Demand Media

usa_today_logo.jpgAnd the changes keep happening over at USA Today! The paper recently underwent an ad campaign, both in print and online, to inform you that, what you want? Baby, they got it. Then, they struck a deal with New York-area Starbucks franchises to carry the paper on their newsstands. Now, the paper of choice for Colorado prisoners is outsourcing its Web section to Demand Media.

USA Today will use Demand Media’s articles and videos to power their “Travel Tips” travel information site. Back in February, Demand, which is often regarded as a content “farm” built on the efforts of freelancers, brought on (or attempted to bring on) big names in media to help elevate their image and improve the quality of their videos and articles. Maybe this deal, then, is the second big step towards Demand rising above the controversy it creates in the world of journalism?
