VH1 Greenlights Seven New Shows

vh1_062007.jpgThe network responsible for such cultural moments as I Love New York and Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School is at it again. Starting later this summer, VH1 will trot out seven new shows, giving the station a third night of original programming.

The highlights:

  • The Salt ‘N’ Pepa Show, which follows the Grammy-winning rap group as they attempt to reconcile their differences and re-unite. Salt has found God and a home in Long Island, while Pepa still parties like the rock star she was. Will the group ever top the charts again? Or, at the very least, sell out the Knitting Factory?

  • America’s Most Smartest Models, hosted by Ben Stein, pits 14 models against each other as they try to answer the age old question, “Do smart models exist?”
  • According to the release, the tentatively-titled Danny Bonaduce’s Child Star “challenges Danny Bonaduce to seek out one great, aspiring, triple threat stage-hungry kid, identify them as a star, and train their driven stage mom or dad to be a supportive and fit parent who won’t end up driving their kid into rehab.”
