Fear not if you haven’t seen Mike Francesa dozing off during his WFAN afternoon show this week, we have it after the jump. It was unbeknownst to his radio followers as the veteran host nodded while Yankee beat reporter Sweeny Murti had a live segment on the phone.

But for those who tuned into Francesa’s YES Network simulcast, they witnessed the nap in its entirety–less than 50 seconds.

During that time, Francesa (shown on the larger split screen with a still shot of Murti) appears to be reading something. Then his head drifts lower. Ultimately, he catches himself and awakes with a look for the ages. It’s not certain if Francesa bounced back on his own, if the producer was screaming in his ear, or if Murti startled Francesa. To his credit, Francesa didn’t miss a step. Not sounding groggy, he promptly resumed his professional give and take with Murti.

Along with a You Tube clip generating more than 200,000 views, All Access says the story was been reported as far away as Australia and Britain.

In July, as part of WFAN’s 25th anniversary, Francesa, 58, admitted that he was 50-50 on retiring after his contract expires in 2014.
