We Stand Corrected: SoCal Can Claim Another Tenuous Pulitzer Connection

latif.jpgEarlier we mused whether Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editor Mark Katches is the closet thing SoCal came to winning a Pulitzer Prize this year.

Turns out, we have another pathetically slim tie to that hallowed prize: A tipster tells us that Breaking News photo winner Adrees Latif was “a freelancer for Reuters in Los Angeles from 2001-2003 before being hired as staff photographer based in Bangkok.”

See? We’re not entirely irrelevant here.
