Whitman ‘Donates’ More Money to Her Campaign

meg-whitman-fortune-magazine.jpg

The good news for Meg Whitman is that no matter what happens her self-funded vanity project to be governor will be tax deductible. The good news for California is her now $104 million is going directly into the “get people elected” business in California. She’s creating/sustaining jobs!

We don’t know – her campaign is starting to look a little garish.

Seema Mehta writes:

Billionaire Meg Whitman has contributed an additional $13 million of her own money to her effort to become California’s next governor, bringing the Republican nominee’s personal stake in her election bid to $104 million.

The donation was filed Friday with the California secretary of state’s office. Whitman, the former chief executive of EBay, is in a dead heat with Democratic nominee Jerry Brown despite the fact that she has vastly outspent the California attorney general since she won the primary election in June.

Note the donation was also a Friday news dump.

Here’s the latest polling on the race.
