Who’ll Take Over For Patrick McCarthy At W?

patrick_mccarthy_3.19.10.jpgNames currently being thrown around as possibilities for W‘s next editor include W‘s current creative director, Dennis Freedman (W, you might recall, was recently placed under the supervision of Condé Nast editorial director Tom Wallace, with much of its senior editorial staff moving to WWD and Patrick McCarthy stepping down from his role at the magazine by year’s end.), Vogue fashion and news director Sally Singer, French Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld [Ed. note: Seriously?], and Allure editor Linda Wells.

While a couple of these names seem unlikely to leave their current posts, Wallace is expected to announce his decision sooner rather than later. According to Condé Nast spokeswoman Maurie Perl, a replacement will be revealed “as soon as the right candidate has been selected.”
