WLTW Holds at Number One for October; WCBS-FM Back to 2nd
It’s another ratings book winner for WLTW/Lite FM, according to the overall Arbitron numbers for October. However, that’s not the full story. The Clear Channel Soft Adult Contemporary juggernaut slipped to 5.7.
WCBS-FM, the longtime bridesmaid in the “post-Jack era,” recaptured the number two slot. CBS-FM actually dropped .2 to a 5.2 for the month.
Clear Channel’s WKTU, last month’s second-place finisher, fell .6 to a 5.0. Sister station WHTZ/Z100 also went backwards–losing .2 to 4.7.
Rocker WAXQ picked up .3 to 4.5 for October, while Inner City’s WBLS also gained .3 to 3.9.
More from the latest radio ratings after the jump
WCBS lost .5 to 3.6, while sister station WINS dropped .7 to 3.5.
However, upstart FM news station WEMP did not take away those listeners. The Merlin Media owned station, which debuted in August, had a microscopic .4, down another .1 from September.
Back atop the ratings, WABC, which along with WPLJ, had some recent layoffs, improved slightly to 3.4.
On the sports scene, David has a longway to go before slaying Goliath. But it was good start for Disney’s 1050 ESPN/WEPN. The station jumped .5 to 1.5. WFAN, though, increased .4 to 3.2.
Also of note, WOR slipped to a 2.0 (from 2.2 in September).
Bloomberg Radio/WBBR falls below the radio “mendoza line” of 1.0 to .a 9.
