Yawn, That Joaquin Phoenix Doc is a Hoax

So Joaquin Phoenix and Casey Affleck spent two years pretending Phoenix was having a meltdown? You mean the brother of River Phoenix who died of a drug overdose in a gutter on Sunset in ’93? You mean the guy who was born in the same cult as Ricky Rodriguez who committed a murder/suicide in 2005?! Like it’s all so far fetched. The more INTERESTING documentary would have been a guy in Phoenix’s circumstance not losing his mind.

NY Times writes:

“It’s a terrific performance, it’s the performance of his career,” Mr. Affleck said. He was speaking of Mr. Phoenix’s two-year portrayal of himself – on screen and off – as a bearded, drug-addled aspiring rap star, who, as Mr. Affleck tells it, put his professional life on the line to star in a bit of “gonzo filmmaking” modeled on the reality-bending journalism of Hunter S. Thompson.

Hunter S. Thompson? More like the short lived (lame) E! show Pop Secret.

We can’t think of anything more pointless, irritating and boring than this stunt.

We like BOTH their brothers better.
