You Don’t Call, You Don’t Write, And When You Do It’s Boring

bavice15.jpgThe saying goes, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Well, according to Vice, if you don’t have anything interesting to say, they won’t print it. And apparently no one has anything interesting or edifying to contribute these days because the Brooklyn-based magazine has canceled their letters page entirely.

You know what? No letters page this month…You know why? Because we aren’t receiving enough real letters. We mainly get emails now, and people don’t think when they write emails.
Ha. A pox on the commentariat! Actually we can’t remember the last time we wrote an actual letter, though we’ve noticed a disturbing tendency recently to include html codes in our hand-written notes. Of course, the Vice people posted all this online, including a call to readers “who still have most of your fingers and know how to hold a pen, to send us actual, tangible letters.” So basically, do as we say, not as we do.
