Professional Experience

I'm a versatile editor, writer, and strategist who is highly tuned into a global discussion of ideas and issues. I've developed keen insights into how globalism has changed the ways we work, write, innovate, lead, and interact. I'm interested in innnovation and design, developing countries, literature by women, social anthropology, conflict situations, women leaders, feminism and sexual/reproductive health, and the unintended consequences of globalism in culture, identity, and language.

Showcase

Writing Samples

For Foreign Policy magazine's inaugural arts column, I probed whether international awards dilute literature, presenting three views of what happens when the English language becomes the de facto standard for literature. I interviewed Tim Parks, Robin Desser, and J.M. Coetzee.
I wrote about the history of India's Jews, from David Sassoon to Sulochana, to coincide with the 2013 anniversary of the South Bombay terrorist attack by Lashkar-e-Tayyiba.
I wrote about Mary Lawson's story of a dysfunctional family in a northern Ontario logging town, for the NYTBR.
I profiled Alex Alvarez, a special effects guru for the film and gaming industries, and founder of the Gnomon School of Visual Effects.
