Professional/Personal Overview
As a skilled researcher, writer and multimedia journalist, I turn complicated and technical material into engaging stories for the average reader. I'm adaptable. I've narrated a personal travel disaster for Oregon's largest newspaper, written web content explaining a highly technical science experiment for a national laboratory and investigated the money behind D.C. politics for an investigative organization -- all on strict deadlines. While a freelance writer and professional intern, I did everything from conducting interviews and managing online publishing platforms to selecting and editing photos and images. I'm a self-starter. During an independent freelance project, I investigated water issues related to receding Andean glaciers. Of those ten months, six weeks were spent in Ecuador, interviewing scientists, community leaders and indigenous farmers as I researched the impacts of climate change on the region.
