Professional Experience

I once tended bar for an orphanage in Guatemala, slept outside of a train station in Barcelona, and found a place on a Caribbean island in late April where a jacket was needed. I consider myself an "adventure" journalist--my work has taken me from coffee plantations in the Dominican Republic to Limburger factories in the rolling hills of Wisconsin. I currently focus on crime, and will be in Costa Rica this August. Please, find out more at www.Jacobski.com.

What does it take to run an ethical business in an industry built on foreign exploitation? That's the story I pitched, but it was ultimately whittled down to was a lovely profile of the challenges faced by a local (Madison, Wis.) coffee roaster. Article Includes my photos.
In the midst of tragedy, family and community members came together to honor the memory of a father killed by a violent, and seemingly random, shooting. Article includes my photos.
