Professional Experience

I started my career with a fulltime writing/editorial job I was not qualified to get because even with no experience, I was so good that people wanted me anyway. Four years ago, I applied for a job at a start-up company owned by a major B2B corporation. I was just out of school, and I had little real work experience. The company contacted me and said I was not yet qualified for the role for which I had applied, but that they would love to interview me for a lower-level position. I went in for an interview and took an editing test. And then they offered me the job for which I had originally applied. Here it is four years and multiple company awards later, and I have never let them regret the decision they made that day. Not only did I take over the editing of an entire section of their legal website, I also became the marketing liaison for the editors. I did all this when I was not even qualified for the job. Imagine what I could do for you now that I am qualified.
