Professional/Personal Overview
Take a look at my website: www.joanne-gerber.com As for my specialties, I am a real hybrid: a) luxury travel and lifestyle, and b) fighting poverty and injustice in developing countries. One day I'm fact checking articles on fascinating travel destinations, gourmet restaurants, boutique hotels, and anything that's "artisanal." The next, I'm editing reports on programs to help people eke out a living in Central Asia. How do I square the two? I don't. I just do both. What do I do, exactly? Well, I am... an EDITOR with experience in promotion, scholarly papers, book chapters, annual reports, and brochures; a COPY EDITOR, of magazine articles, book chapters, etc.; a FACT CHECKER/RESEARCHER, with plenty of experience, mainly in travel; and a WRITER and TRANSLATOR, having done some writing and French-to-English translations. See my Web site for writing samples.
