Personal Finance

I write a personal finance blog where I document how I paid off my student loans in three years. This is a guest post I wrote about the mistakes I made when paying off my loans and how I could have paid them off faster.
This is a blog post I wrote to encourage high schoolers to start savings. This is part of a monthly series I write for teens, where I explain personal finance topics in a way they can understand and relate to.

Media

At the 2010 Final Four, I wrote a story about the declining number of print reporters that were covering the event. This was a trend piece that focused on the increase of bloggers and web reporters and how they were driving down the numbers of print and traditional reporters.

Sports

This is a story I wrote about an amateur cricket league in my hometown of Memphis, Tenn. Memphis is an unlikely place to find cricket. But I discovered a group of immigrants who had joined a league to connect to the game - and culture - they grew up with.
This was a feature piece I wrote during my time at the Associated Press. Hofstra University had recently cut its football program and since the college football season was about to start, I wrote a story about how the players and coaches were dealing with not being able to play for their old school.

Magazine

I interviewed various local shop owners about what stores they like to shop at in their spare time. This was a piece I did for the annual "Shops" issue.
