Professional Experience

A multimedia, full-package features writer, I specialize in fashion journalism. I am a fashion enthusiast and merchandising minor gone professional. With two years experience in fashion blogging, I launched a professional site that has gained over 1,200 users in just two months. My understanding of the industry, gaining powerful story sources, interactive social media management, Web design knowledge and expertise in online media are all displayed here. Furthermore, I am a fashion-specific freelancer for 5280 in Denver, the largest magazine in the city. I have also had pieces published about fitness, social issues/social justice, consumer products and profiles (personal and business). Above all else, I love a good story!

Writing Samples

This is an advice piece published in Mortgage Professional America's newsletter and on the Web. Through researching top mortgage twitter accounts, I accumulated the best twitter tips for mortgage professionals. The article was picked up by our Australian mortgage magazine the next day.
This piece is about an international apparel company debuting a new exclusive line. With a blog that wasn't officially launched yet, I was able to get an interview with the creative director of a major fashion house. They went on to feature me as a blogger a month later.
This article is on the spring trend of wearing denim to work. I feature a local boutique owner who discusses how to wear the trend fashionably and a career counselor who advises how to wear denim from a professional viewpoint.
This is a small Web article about a new trend for women to try on Easter of this year. I wrote the story from beginning to end, helped style the outfits and also took the pictures.

Multimedia

This article is a multimedia piece on how to pack for summer vacations. I include two experts on styling and fashion, one of which has the most popular fashion travel blog out there. I also made an infographic with easy to remember steps, as well as a picture of how I applied the advice.
Justice Talk is a blog dedicated to discussing social issues under the organization Justice Society. In the past nine months I created and fully designed the blog, as well as built up a staff of four contributors who posted on a planned schedule. I copy edited all entries.
This is my own fashion blog. I give style tips, outfit suggestions and report on important businesses or fashion topics, as well as create longer multimedia features for more in-depth stories.

Video

This is a video I fully produced for the Larimer Humane Society. June Baker is a founder and supporter of the organization. In this video she discusses why she chose to adopt from the society and how it has impacted her life.
