52 Projects and Then Some
It probably shows how much more plugged into the scene I need to get that I never realized that Jeffrey “52 Projects” Yamaguchi had set up shop to do online promotions at HarperCollins and was part of the team behind The Olive Reader and CruelestMonth.com. Found it all out through his Gothamist interview. Not that he’s totally cheerleading for the Web, mind you:
“I often wake up on Saturday mornings with big plans to get some writing done, but instead, click on this blog, then that blog, then that Flickr site, over to the NYTimes.com, and oh, I haven’t checked out so and so’s site for a while, so I do that, find a reference to something intriguing, so I do a Google search, and on and on it goes and before I know it it’s after noon and I’m sitting in my boxers with the day half gone and I haven’t done jack shit. Terrible, terrible waste of time.”
Sounds a lot like my Saturdays, except for the part about waking up before noon.
