alkennedy-costaprize.jpgNovelist A.L. Kennedy has won this year’s Costa Book Award (formerly known as the Whitbread), awarded annually to “the most enjoyable books of the last year by writers based in the UK and Ireland.” Kennedy interrupted her American book tour for the winning novel, Day, to accept the award, but she’s back in the States tonight—in fact, she’ll be reading at New York’s 92nd St. Y along with Roddy Doyle.
