Sarah and I are on our way to tonight's mediabistro.com book industry mixer at 6:30 tonight. Publishing pros might still be able to squeeze into the basement bar at Puck Fair to watch us crown our Hotties, but if you come on down and we're full up, you've got plenty of other options:
- McNally Robinson is hosting a 14-writer reading to raise funds for Seeds for Peace, a nonprofit that provides aid to children living in combat zones. The lineup assembled by Leora Skolkin-Smith includes Diana Abu-Jaber, Elisa Albert, David Gates, Masha Hamilton, Binnie Kirshenbaum, Joan Silber, and Katharine Weber.
- The LitPAC Reading Series converges on Housing Works Used Book Café tonight, with Jonathan Lethem, Nick Flynn, Jennifer Egan, and Martha Southgate.
- The publishers and authors of Impetus Press meet up at KGB Bar for an evening of readings. See Kate Hunter, Nick Antosca, Christian TeBordo, Jennifer Banash, and Dave Housley.
OK, I know KGB's in the East Village, not SoHo. But it's still within walking distance if you don't make it in to see us...
