Accidental Book Trailer Scores 30 Million Views

The most successful book trailer of the year (viewed over 30 million times on YouTube!) plugged an out-of-print book. That homemade video about a pet lion spurred interest in a 1972 nonfiction book called A Lion Called Christian by Anthony Bourke and John Rendall–making it the sixth most wanted out-of-print book of 2008.

Bookfinder released the Most Wanted Out-of-Print List, cataloging the out-of-print books that readers hope to find. It’s a wish-list for publishers, and a primer on what sort of books people miss reading. Check it out:

“1. Once a Runner: A Novel (1978) by John L. Parker, Jr.
The cult classic distance running novel, coming back into print April 2009
2. Sex (1992) by Madonna
The pop icon’s book of erotic photos, a perennial favorite
3. Promise Me Tomorrow (1984) by Nora Roberts
An early novel that the bestselling romance novelist refuses to reprint, describing it as ‘mediocre.’”
