- Scholastic has acquired world rights to the tie-in publishing program around "The Golden Compass", the film based on the first book in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, Northern Lights. The movie will be directed by Chris Weitz (of ABOUT A BOY FAME) and the release date is slated for November 2007.
- The Boston Globe's David Mehegan chats with Tom Perrotta about the process of turning his most recent novel, LITTLE CHILDREN, into the movie - just out in theaters now.
