Amazon’s E-Book Device Ready for Holiday Shopping?

At TeleRead, a blog centered around developments in the e-book world, David Rothman gets the runaround from Amazon.com, as a company publicist hangs up on him when he asks for an advance Kindle electronic book reader in order to review the product for Publishers Weekly. Basically, the odds are looking pretty good Amazon’s going to finally unveil the device at the late-night press conference they’re holding at the W Monday; there’s a few other theories kicking around, but this is the one people seem to be gravitating towards.

It’s such an amusing detail that they’re going to do this practically across the street from what amounts to B&N‘s flagship store, and just three blocks from the chain’s corporate headquarters.
