Any Excuse to Say Haßwitzblattschrift

Thanks to a watchful Colleen Doran, I’ve discovered that that Iranian Holocaust cartoon contest has a website, and as Doran observes of the examples given, “They just aren’t very good.” Frankly, I wouldn’t even bother clicking through, to be honest; it’d only bore you, and it looks like a lot of them aren’t even about the Holocaust. This little Haßwitzblattschrift (portmanteau German for “hate cartoon project”; aren’t I clever?) is going on for another month and a half, and to quote Doran again, Art Spiegelman’s role in the Israeli version of this contest is “funnier than any of the Iranian cartoons.”
