Apple Tablet Named iSlate?

Over the holiday weekend, MacRumors scored the digital scoop of the week, linking Apple (AAPL) to the domain name “iSlate”–a possible name for the fabled Apple tablet computer that many insiders expect in 2010.

Here’s an excerpt from the short article: “after further investigation of the domain name registrant history, it seems Apple’s name was temporarily exposed as the actual owner of ‘iSlate.com’ for several weeks in late 2007. It was changed back within a few weeks, but MacRumors has found the historic record proving Apple ownership of the iSlate.com domain.”

The last set of rumors about the tablet predicted a January 2010 release date and a possible 30/70 split with publishers who build content for the new device.
