‘Aspiring Girls’ Nonfiction Book on Kickstarter

Mary-Jane Wagle hopes to raise $42,000 to self-publish her nonfiction coffee table book, Aspiring Girls. The funds will be used to cover the costs of holding photo shoots, printing, and distribution.

The finished book will contain the inspirational stories and photographs of 70 successful Ethiopian women. We’ve embedded a video about the project above. Here’s more about the project:

“We are producing a high quality coffee table book in which these amazing women tell their own stories, talk about their early years, the evolution of their interests and careers, their motivations, their dreams, their values and their advice to young women growing up today. Beautiful photographs by internationally renowned Ethiopian photographer Aida Muluneh bring their stories to life on the page.”
