Audrey Niffenegger Sells Her Next Book for $4.8 Million

GalleyCat has heard that Audrey Niffenegger sold North American rights to her next book to Nan Graham at Scribner for $4.8 million.

Update from the NY Times: “Niffenegger has sold a new manuscript for close to $5 million, according to people with knowledge of the negotiations. It is an especially significant sum at a time of retrenchment and economic uncertainty in the publishing world.”

In 2003, Niffenegger’s bestseller, “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” swept book clubs around the country. Recently, she worked on a graphic novel which was serialized at the Guardian.
