Bill Clinton Stocks Up on Reading Material

bill-clinton-shopping.jpgThe Austinist blog tagged along while Bill Clinton wandered through BookPeople after signing 1,000 copies of his new book, Giving. “Clinton may be an Oxford-educated Rhodes Scholar, political genius, former president and potential first First Gentleman,” says the blog, “but he still likes to occasionally read cheap paperback thrillers you’d find at an airport news stand like the rest of us.” After giving props to James Lee Burke, whose The Tin Roof Blowdown is, according to the ex-president, “definitely his best book yet,” Clinton went on to buy several nonfiction books, from a biography of Ingrid Bergman to Samuel Huntington‘s attack on multiculturalism, along with Sara Gruen‘s Water for Elephants.
