Bookforum’s Bittersweet Reading

On Friday the 13th, a team of writers gathered at New Museum in New York City to celebrate Bookforum‘s St. Valentine’s Eve Party.

GalleyCat received a number of photos from the festivities. In the left-hand picture, writers Jonathan Ames and Rhonda Lieberman cuddle for Valentine’s Day photo. On the right, Mary Gaitskill reads her story.

These three authors joined a literary line-up reading “short and bittersweet” stories, including: Richard Hell, Wayne Koestenbaum, Rachel Kushner, and Daphne Merkin. One of the coordinators told GalleyCat: “What started out as a modest little idea became a riot of artists and writers all trying to get in to hear the writers read about love’s disaster.”
