Bookstore Sales Growth: 4 Months and Counting
Publishers Weekly reports an 8 percent increase in bookstore revenues for October, the fourth straight month of rising sales for the sector. After the lackluster performance in the first half of 2007, however, that means bookstores are only up 0.3 percent for the year-to-date, while total book sales in all venues were up 9.9 percent through the end of September. (The AAP hasn’t released its October data yet.)
