Broadway & Politics Get Booked

Tonight at Greenlight Books in Brooklyn, Gail Collins will host a conversation with Rebecca Traister (Salon.com columnist and author of Big Girls Don’t Cry: Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, and the Year That Changed Everything).

Last year we interviewed Traister about her work as a 21st Century political reporter. Here’s an excerpt: “I’m not a traditional political beat reporter … As soon as I would write something, I would get hundreds and sometimes thousands of people telling me what they thought. It helped me understand what the sentiment was out there, at least among the sector of people I was writing for.”

In addition, Peter Filichia, author of Broadway Musicals: The Biggest Hit & the Biggest Flop of the Season–1959 to 2009, will be signing at Words in Maplewood, New Jersey this Saturday, January 15th at 2 p.m.
