Freywatch Limps to Its FinaleBack in March, we mentioned reports that My Friend Leonard was reclassified as fiction. Well, I've got the Riverhead trade paperback right here next to my laptop, and it does in fact say "literature" on the back cover—but, more interestingly, the front cover describes the book as "an imaginative story of a real life." So it's not quite fiction, but they're not quite ready to call it memoir, either. In fact, they're not saying much about it at all; below you will find the entire press release (minus the publicist's contact info): ![]() I'm kinda wishing they'd had enough moxie to quote another part of Julia Keller's Tribune love letter.
