Full credit to Matt Benyon Rees for actually going out and shooting a short movie—a cross between noir visuals and music video pacing—to promote his series of mystery novels set in Bethlehem. I might've made some different, tighter editing choices, but I admire the imaginative spirit that he and director David Blumenfeld show here, including the ability to poke fun at themselves. Contrast the stylized approach of this video to the other promotional clip they shot, which feels more like a television news dispatch. I'd be curious to see what kind of readers each video attracts...
