If you need LOLcat print action now, you’re in luck! Prominent online cartoonist Adam Koford, better known as Ape Lad, has just compiled a batch of the best panels from The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats, a comic strip that, according to the origin story, was created by Koford’s grandfather and ran in several American newspapers back in 1912, chronicling the misadventures of two hobo cats. The 192-page paperback is available from Lulu.com for $14.95. Naturally, there’s a trailer to announce the book’s release—and though I’ve gotten a bit tired, as I’ve said, of the whole “music over static images and captions” aesthetic, there’s a certain low-key charm to this one. (Or maybe I’m just predisposed to like everything associated with this comic.)
