Chicken Soup for Your Television Set

chicken-soup-canfield.jpgWe got word earlier this week that Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, the financial entity created to run the bestselling inspirational book franchise after co-founders Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen sold much of their respective stakes to new investors, has gotten itself a deal with dick clark productions to develop a Chicken Soup for the Soul program which would be co-hosted by Canfield. According to the press release, “The jump to television will be aided by the fact that Chicken Soup for the Soul stories span a wide range of genres, allowing the brand to go beyond the demographic boundaries that limit most shows,” while dcp president Orly Adelson cites an audience desire for “uplifting, positive, and inspiring themes.”
